Plain Language + Design
It just makes sense.
I believe in the power of plain language and design. They go hand in hand.
I studied biology in college. At the time, I thought that complex information was just that: complex. It was something to be read, struggled over, and (hopefully, eventually) understood.
During my time in graduate school, I came to understand why complex information is prohibitive and why it doesn’t need to be that way.
I helped create the Center for Health Literacy at MAXIMUS and spent years working with populations with heavy barriers to understanding healthcare information. Since then, I have worked to remove those barriers with accessible language and design for many federal, state, and local programs.
I have decades of experience transforming complex information into something that resonates with diverse audiences.
I promise: we can make it better, together.
